I always knew from childhood I wanted to be a photographer. I grew up during the transition from film to digital photography, learning on film first before finally transitioning to digital as an adult. Even as a child, I was always photographing people and animals, filling countless photo albums with photographs of my family and dogs.
As I transitioned to digital photography, I developed a love for creative portraiture. Whether it was manipulating the lighting, using props in ways that weren't conventional, or in my favorite case, using an alternative source of lighting to create a portrait that was unconventional and creative, I'm always seeking new and innovative ways to create portraits.

I absolutely love travelling all over the Southwest and Texas, with my favorite places being my hometown and Corpus Christi. I have so many amazing memories from my childhood of travelling all over the place during vacations when we could afford to, and that has translated well into my adulthood and photography. I always try to get as many landscapes as I can to document the feel of the environments I find myself in, from the marina in Corpus Christi to the mountains and desert of West Texas.
My love of animals started with the dogs I had growing up and getting to go to the zoo every chance I got. Naturally, as an adult, I have my own membership to the local zoo, and I'm always on the lookout for animals that I can photograph. My favorite animals to photograph (aside from dogs and cats of course) are livestock and birds. I had the chance opportunity to photograph a Texas longhorn on a drive to Houston, and I'm still in awe that the longhorn was so calm when I approached slowly to photograph it. My local zoo has three parrots named Rio, Festus, and Mack, and they are the most photogenic parrots I've ever met. I will definitely be introducing them to you in a later blog post.
I'll leave you with this for now, I look forward to sharing more about my photography and my process with more posts. If there's anything you'd like to know about me and my work, please feel free to send me a message.
